“If you hire a Haven caravan then your Activity pass is...”

written by Holidays2019 on 25/04/2019

If you hire a Haven caravan then your Activity pass is included. But private rental you have to buy, £60 for 2 Adults Security on the door so no getting into the Entertainments area without showing your pass.Once inside you have to pay for everything. They do have a band or something on 9pm for Adults but other than that i can not see how Haven can justify the £60 cost. Its a good job we didnt have children paying age for the passes, cost wouldnt be much less than £200 .Out off our pass we used the pool with baby granddaughter which baby pool was freezing.IMO childrens entertainment could do with a rethink same as last yr. Sometimes Elephant just dancing on stage singing to a CD very loud. Not starting on time. I spoke to couple off people who said the same. Also added cost on top if you wanted to do waterjets etc. Onsite shop. Chippy. Marsh and Barrel pub/restaurant prices no to bad.Does get busy only downside is TV when footie on gets very busy and loud, Be much better if Haven done a seperate bar area with TV and leave the MB as dining area.

wow!!! Where shall I start , well the beach was lovely and Sandy and Everyone was friendly , happy and fantastic people and most of them had children that loved to play with mine . The outdoor trampolines were very fun and ... There was even an outdoor splash zone with vast buckets that tip over your head and pistols that blasted as fast as a cannon ball . There's more but I don't want to give your holiday away ...

“Oh what a view!”

written by HuddersfieldJo on 13/10/2012

having been caught out in the past when booking accommodation and finding it wanting, we decided to book one of haven's 'new for 2012' summerhouses. the blurb online made it sound idyllic, and although there was only an artist's impression to go on, we thought it'd be right next to the beach allowing an impressive view from the oversized patio doors. haha! this was our first mistake. the summerhouse was ready for us to move into at 2pm on the dot on friday 5th - a good start when there is an awful lot of places to clean on this particular site. i thought the receptionist was mistaken when she drew a route to our summerhouse on the map...and it was in the centre of the camp, facing the end of other caravans, and without a grain of sand in sight! oh well! there were mountains to look at from every angle by way of compensation. on arrival at the summerhouse we found that everyone parked on the grass - not something i was particularly keen on at first as the edges were really wet from recent rain, and i felt sure the car would become marooned if we had any more...but my partner reassured me it would be ok. what's more, there wasn't an alternative as the roads were just wide enough to allow one car to drive on them, and there certainly wasn't enough room for parking. into the summerhouse we went. very large lounge area with corner seating and huge scatter cushions. the tempatation to throw myself down and relax was almost too strong...but there was unpacking to be done. first though i needed to visit the smallest room in the house. whoever designed the summerhouses took that saying a tad too literally for my liking. i'm only 5'7" but my knees were touching the wall opposite. anyone over a size 8, or taller than 5' would struggle to use the toilet! i'm not kidding! i won't go into details but do bear this in mind when making a booking as it really upset me that first night. the bed, being a king-sized one, was too big for the double bed sized bedroom. there was absolutely no room around the sides and bottom, but ok if i wanted to walk crab-like round it. the rest of the summerhouse was lovely. i thought the size of the toilet and bedroom wouldn't be an issue for me after a while and made the most of other facilities. the kitchen was very spacious...and the shower was huge. we had a teething problem with the thermostat for the heating that first night...but my partner jiggled the dial and hey-presto! sadly, the size of the loo did start to make me miserable and as reception opened on the saturday morning my partner went to see what our chances were of being moved to something more suitably sized. what wonderful staff! they'd been friendly and welcoming on the friday...but they couldn't have been more caring when asked for help on the saturday. we were asked to give them a few hours to juggle the accommodation and get it cleaned - not an unreasonable request when there were so many arrivals and departues taking place during the day. after sampling breakfast in the 'mash and barrell' we got the keys to a caravan. oh it was like a breath of fresh air! not just one...but two toilets and both with enough space for my knees not to touch any walls! such joy! the main bedroom was huge. two built-in wardrobes with hangers provided, a handy shelf with a socket nearby and a mirror above to make easy work of doing my hair and make-up, and useful cupboards and shelving to the side and above the bed. it was home-from-home luxury. anyway, we were more than happy with the move. as i mentioned earlier, we had breakfast in the 'mash and barrell' and was so impressed we had tea there one evening. the food was hot, cheap and there was enough of it. we particularly liked the fact there was a pool table in there where we could have few beers and a game or two of pool...and as it was out of main season there wasn't anyone waiting for the table. we only went into the main entertainment room on the saturday night. a live group were singing cover versions of soft rock classics and this was just our thing. the prices for drinks were a little high...but only what we expected...and nobody forced us to spend money! on the other occasion we wanted to go in the itinery had been changed, but this is something that can be done at a moment's notice. thankfully we didn't need to use the shop as some of the prices were higher than i thought they would be - 6 bread rolls were a penny short of £2! the area itself is without doubt beautiful, but a little on the quiet side if it's hustle and bustle you're after. luckily it suited me and my partner down to the ground. pwllheli was lovely with it's mix of small local shops and the marina. be aware that there is a charge to go round portmeirion. i was surprised at this as i only wanted to see the pottery...but the payment includes access to the many woodland walks and local railway. a trip to ffestiniog on the steam train is an absolute must for anyone of any age, although it was somewhat dissappointing at the other end as there's nothing to see or do. i do think they're making an effort to change this as major works are taking place in and around the station area. all-in-all we have had the most fantastic week, and i'm now so laid back i'm almost horizontal! well worth a visit.

“Simply the Best”

written by BordersLass on 13/09/2012

Greenacres is by far the best holiday park we have been to. Everything about it says excellence. The entrance to the Park is welcoming with grass & flowers. There is a security guard at the enterance to amke sure only people actually holidaying there can use the facilities. The reception area is bright & spacious. All the entertainment, amusements & swimming pool is under on roof, which makes it easy to find what you want. The only thing we were disappointed with was the price of things like Crazy Golf & bile hire. These are quite expensive. The caravans are beautiful & with everything you need. They are spotless & well laid out. We hired a brand new caravan & it was like walking into a proper each home. Proper sofas & dining table with chairs.Wooden effect flooring which made it easy to sweep any sand out. There was seating along the large front window. The central heating is a big bonus when it goes chilly at night. The bedrooms were large with plenty of cupboard & wardrobe space, as well as a dressing table & en-suite for the main bedroom. The shower room was also large with plenty of room in the shower. Not the tiny cubicles you find in a lot of caravans.Everything about the caravan was class with comfort. I could not fault the caravan at all. The caravan site is right onto the beach. There is a good sized shop that sells a good variety of things at reasonable prices. The laundrette is open 24hours & is reasonably priced. I highly recommend Greenacres Holiday Park. It is excellent for children of all ages as well as Adults who want a quiet holiday. Something for everyone & the scenery is beautiful. So many lovely places & beaches to see. We will certainly return next year.
