“Bad bad bad”

written by Ariana217 on 03/11/2022

Waited 15 minutes to give our order, one whole hour later still waiting, my husband went and complain to the kitchen staff, who left the kitchen to gang up on my husband, my grandson who is special needs took a photo of him coming back to our table. Up came the chef threatened to sue us for taking a photo illegally without their permission, so please do not take photos of your group or meals. She spoke to us in a raised voice so I felt totally humiliated, we were regular customers but after that no more.

I do not like this service at all. I love to garden and I spent most of my day doing so but this chepstow does nothing to help me.

“OAP's Day Centre”

★★☆☆☆

written by Duke_Nukem on 30/03/2016

I have been there for two or three years and watched it turn from primarily a garden centre to an out-of-town department store. It beats me how they get the planning permission (have they?). Recently they greatly "improved" the restaurant from a convenience to a major feature, and they have just turned what was a significant area of their outdoor plant display into a further extension of the car park. Inside the vast main building, garden related stuff gets less and less, giving way to books, cards, gifts, clothes, DVDs, and bric-a-brac aimed at people looking for ways to spend their money, typically well-heeled pensioners from what I see. I know some pensioners who regard the place as a destination for an afternoon or a day out. It is like a twice-weekly day centre for them. I went looking for some plants and soon gave up; if you want plants, you are better going to somewhere more "rustic".
