“Money to burn? Give it to Natuzzi”

Written on: 07/10/2022

If you want very poor quality, expensive furniture with terrible customer service please buy from Natuzzi. Do not buy anywhere else as all the above criteria will be met and more. A very brief summary of my issues with Natuzzi with regards to furniture purchased at a cost of £4600. Sofa and chairs purchased on 27 Feb 2020, delivered Sept 2020 : faults reported on Nov 2020. Reluctantly agreed on replacement sofa in Oct 2021 after many emails and technician visits. Replacement delivered Feb 2022: faults reported May 2022 Faults on both sofas: Creaking noises (rectified by technician on last visit). Loud fabric rubbing noises when operating the recliner on both sides. Unable to be repaired according to technicians. Numerous technician visits, 32 emails sent by me (many without reply from Natuzzi) and a visit from the Area Manager. As a last resort I have written to the Director, Natuzzi UK Retail Ltd and copied Natuzzi Director based in Italy stating that, to avoid taking court action to recover full cost, I am willing to use Alternative Dispute Resolution to resolve this problem.

“Poor quality ”

Written on: 27/09/2022 by Dowdeo450 (1 review written)

We haven’t had a great experience, our first choice of sofa arrived and within 3 days the leather was sagging significantly and was so uncomfortable you couldn’t even sit on it. I asked to reject it but they persuaded me they could make it comfortable but failed in doing this. They then offered a reselection; we accepted and unfortunately haven’t had a great experience with this one. We opted for the Portento model and within 6 months the frame broke and within 18 months (still in warranty) the interior foam deteriorated rapidly on the left and right side to the point where you can feel metal in your back. They claimed this is not a defect and the problem has occurred due to our preferred seating position, not sure how you can sit on a sofa wrong. As a gesture of goodwill they offered to fill it out with more padding. It was still in warranty so not sure why this is a gesture of goodwill. The top technician arrived to carry out this work but could not fill out the problem areas as it will break the mechanism. They continue to state there are no manufacturing/design defects but have offered to replace the back cushions, we couldn't accept this as the same problem will occur again. We have now arranged an independent inspection and are ready to take legal action. We spent almost £8k on a suite we thought would last 10 years plus, in reality it hasn’t even lasted two. For that price you’d expect nothing but top quality. We feel really let down by Natuzzi Editions.

Hidden cost £150 delivery charge for three seats sofa, although they promised there would be no problem for the sofa to get in the ground living room upon ordering.

“Avoid avoid avoid terms and conditions just to protect...”

Written on: 20/04/2022 by SantiagoCormier (1 review written)

Avoid avoid avoid! Terrible experience, took months to get my money back. This company (Designer Sofa distributor of Natuzzi in UK) terms and conditions have been created to protect them. Unfair terms! After sale customer service was non existent, lots of 'not my problem' attitude. The lady at the Watford store was friendly until I paid a deposit. She failed to tell me the deposit was non-refundable and failed to inform me the recliner sofa required an electric power connection which was a problem as my sofa is in the middle of the lounge. I described this to her during initial conversation. I found out about the power connection requirement online after I already put a deposit down. I contacted the store the same day to cancel the order but the store wasn't interested. She acused me of buyer's remorse a few days later! How dare she! Took months of emails with customer care, many calls with Which? Legal to seek legal advice. I finally got my deposit back when I sent a letter before court proceedings. I wasn't bluffing, I was going to take them to small claims court. Trading Standards have been informed of my experience.

“Awful just awful”

Written on: 03/02/2022 by faulds1521 (1 review written)

In simple terms this Company are awful. We purchased 2 sofas in August and were told delivery would be the end of November. The end of November came and no Sofas' but on reviewing the paperwork is was clear that the sales rep had given then an 8 week buffer by writing Nov/Dec (so please read the paperwork before signing). We had no contact from Natuzzi at all so I called to be told it was delayed and that it would now be the 6th of Jan, therefore, missing the promised Xmas delivery. I asked for a call from their Head Office as I wanted to cancel my order given the delays and the infuriating lack of contact from them. It took them until the 24th of Jan for one of their Area Managers to contact me by which time we had another 2 delays and now the order was due in on the 2nd of Feb - so 22 weeks!!!! Worst customer service ever as the initial 8-week buffer they gave themselves allegedly covered them and again read the paperwork as they claim delays are not their fault and the contract is binding. I would like to recognise that while the employee's in the Branch are doing their best they are being let down by the dismal aftersales customer service that is supposed to be provided. To add to this even though the order was quoted as being in it's not due to be delivered until the 8th of Feb so in essence, it has taken them nearly 24 weeks !!!!!

“Beware ”

Written on: 11/10/2021 by 406Murdock (1 review written)

Beware - Great service when purchasing my couch the last week in May, but not a great service when your told August , September at the latest and still no couch mid October. After contacting them numerous times calling and emailing , no call backs no emails. I have a living room with no couch. A date has now been given for delivery because I have chased and chased but in the meantime I have had to purchase a couple of chairs to sit on, I think it’s fair to ask for compensation for the chairs but again no response or acknowledgment. Very poor customer service from the Area Manager who isn’t interested in trying to resolve or even to take the time to speak to us.

“Disappointing experience”

Written on: 29/09/2021 by markleicesters100 (1 review written)

Could not get a straight answer from the individual we spoke to regarding the cost of a specific suite we required with a chaise end. She did explain that she was relatively new at the Rugby Store. Although I am a lover of all good Italian design, my wife and I were put off by the excessive use of profanities by two male assistants/ manager? who seemed bored and unwilling to engage in anything other than their awful loud conversation in a nearly empty store late Sunday afternoon. Very disappointing. After this sales experience, the retailer has been bullying Trustpilot to get the same review removed as not being genuine. It is, and clearly Natuzzi lack integrity…

“6 years from a sofa? ”

Written on: 26/08/2021 by iiStrickland439 (1 review written)

I bought a Natuzzi sofa that was delivered in Feb 2015. 6 years later in the early part of 2021 I noticed that one of the seats was sagging. I called the shop I bought from, Gillies in Aberdeen and they sent a technician. I was charged for his time I think it was £45. He replaced some of the foam and said that I should get a couple years out of it! It does look better and I was happy with the repair but not that a sofa of only 6 years should need it! While he was with me I asked about the leather as it had started to ball up and shed a little. He said it needed to be re-sealed! Again after only 6 years I felt that this was rediculous! This would be another £85 for one seat. As it is a modular sofa this could add up. Since he visited I have had peeling start on two other seats, so now 3 seats out of 6 affected. Ofcourse both Gillies and Natuzzi say things like it's wear and tear or something has got "into" the leather. Do you use fake tan? Perhaps Body cream? Was something spilled etctetc. These kind of contradict each other - is it expected wear and tear? Or is it because of some chemical or body lotion (not in my opinion). Having first contacted Gillies who were able to provide a chargable repair I then contacted Natuzzi who point blank say as it is outwith waranty they will not do anything. The frame of this sofa has a 10 year waranty and materials etc only 2 years. I feel that I should have been informed that having to replace the foam and have the sofa re-sealed was to be expected within 6 years OR that this shouldn't have happened, I don't think this is fair. My expectations of this sofa's life span have not been met. Nobody buys a sofa at £4000 and expects it to last only 6 years. Natuzzi trade on their reputation from years ago that sold quality products and gave excellent customer service, sadly this is no longer the same company.

“Electrical Fire”

Written on: 28/08/2020 by Kidd119 (1 review written)

We purchased a 3 seater (all electric) reclining sofa from the Guildford branch. Terrible after sales service. Our sofa caught fire within an hour of the delivery team installing it. To start with we got a quick response from head office, they arranged for an engineer to come out, but we still had to wait a week. Sadly, that’s where the after-sales service stoped. Given the severity of the issue and potentially disastrous consequences, we had hoped someone would be with us very quickly but that wasn’t to be. We were left with one of the chairs fully extended and immovable due to the electrical fire that caused irreversible damage until the engineer visited. The part needing replacement was coming from Italy. It took Natuzzi 120 days to get an engineer to us with a replacement part. We had to chase for updates all the time, Natuzzi never once kept us informed. And I would go as far as saying they treated us as if we were a nuisance asking for an update. No compensation offered. In fact, given the sofa caught fire on delivery, we didn’t and still don’t want the sofa in our home, but Natuzzi refused to take it away and refund us or replace it. Not getting an update from the head office, we visited the Guildford store and advised the manager what had occurred. He was shocked and got straight on the phone to head office. Head office wouldn’t give him an update but promised they would contact us. We didn’t hear from them - no surprise. It’s worth pointing out we found the sofas in the shop far more comfortable to sit on than the one we had delivered. Some may say that’s because the ones in the shop have been sat in for longer but we purchased from the Guildford store that had only been open a couple of days and the manager told us all the sofas were brand new. Other issues we have are that the reclining mechanism on our sofa is far louder and not as smooth as the sofas in the shop. The leather is of poor quality and has already sagged on one of the seats making it look as if its years old not 4 months old! Finally, the sofa is fixed but to compound things the engineer put a hole in our carpet (all the way down to the floorboard) which he has denied doing. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. It seems that to protect myself from situations such as this for any purchase requiring delivery and/or installation I need to install video cameras in my home to provide proof of the damage the engineer caused. Whatever happened to customer care? As others have noted be aware the sofas are NOT made in Italy, they’re made in Romania, China and Brazil. This company is not trustworthy and has no respect for its customers or the after sales service their customers deserve. This is not a cheap brand but its cheap service and cheap materials. As others have said, I too would not recommend this company, in fact my recommendation is to avoid at all costs. Your mental health deserves better than dealing with a company who shows no regard for its customers.

“Be very Careful - You've been warned”

Written on: 08/01/2020

Quality product sold by untrustworthy, arrogant staff. All very nice and promising the earth when your buying the product - "of course we will deliver to the room of your choice Sir, upstairs that wont be problem to our delivery staff - ring us if there is a problem when they deliver". The delivery people turned up at 7.00pm - they advised they would arrive mid afternoon. They promptly dumped the sofa in the kitchen advising my 80 year old father they aren't paid to take it up stairs and it wouldn't go up there anyway. This was Friday 20th December as we were going away on the 22nd for Christmas and New Year. When we returned home (2nd Jan) I arranged to meet two friends at the house on the 4th and we moved sofa upstairs and into living room. Photo sent to customer services - surprise surprise no reply Rang Watford , its customer services you need to speak to. Area manager, we will refund delivery; Sales Director - we're not paying you any more....no consideration of the two 200 mile round trips, one on the 22nd and the other the 4th, necessary to sort this or the disappointment over Christmas that our new sofa was stacked on top of each other in the kitchen. DO NOT BELIEVE WHAT THEY SAY AS THEY WILL TELL YOU ANYTHING TO ACHIEVE A SALE. Shocking attitude from top to bottom; untrustworthy arrogant staff, dreadful advert for Natuzzi YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!!

“Avoid Guildford store”

Written on: 04/01/2020 by Xzavierr424 (1 review written)

Went to the Guildford editions store. Was met by a really rude middle aged female assistant who did not smile once. When we asked her what the difference was between Italia and Editions she said, the Italia range was “more for architects and offices” which is not the case. The next chap we spoke to told us the Editions range is made in Italy, which is incorrect;they are made in China. They kept offering us a drink to encourage us to place an order but sadly none of the sales staff were either helpful,or knowledgable. Shambles, avoid.

“Natuzzi suites are rubbish, service is rubbish.”

Written on: 30/12/2019 by KSSSSSSS (1 review written)

Bought a 2 seater and 3 seater Natuzzi leather special editions for £5000.00. On both the 2 seater and the 3 seater the motors have stopped working, now I don't expect them to last for ever but the suite is only just over 2 years old. On one of the sofas it gone out of shape and its been like it from new, there been out twice in the 1st year but it still the same, I've now given up trying to get sorted. The suite is a great looking suite but there it stops, the service from there shops and there head office is rubbish and the same can be said for there products, £5000.00 for a suite to last 2 years is not good enough and the way they deal with problems with there products is not good enough for a company which is selling a upmarket product. My last suite I got from DFS and it was still as good as new the day I replaced it with this one, it was 9 years old and still looked good and all the motors were still working as they should. Don't believe the sales patter and just get out of the shop or better still don't go in and risk getting bad products and service. There are better company's out there who deserve your hard earned cash than this brunch. I had to give them 1 star to get this published, they are not worth 1 star.

“Avoid! Poor quality product and poor after sales service”

Written on: 11/12/2019 by NareshSidhu (1 review written)

Avoid! Poor quality product and poor after sales service. Following the delivery of my Stan Corner Sofa (cost £6,180), I noticed a fault with an electric recliner which should have been identified/resolved prior to delivery. There was no way the faulty unit in question was damaged in transit given its location. Having raised the issue to the after sales team, I was forced to chase a resolution several times as there was mass confusion within Natuzzi RE the status of the new part required. When I voiced my concerns, they simply blamed the technicians appointed by themselves for the amateur attempt to resolve the issue. If you want a premium product and service, avoid Natuzzi.

“Poor quality product and unprofessional service”

Written on: 21/08/2019 by AubreyParks (1 review written)

Natuzzi at the Manchester Trafford Centre is one of the most unprofessional companies I have ever dealt with and the manager I found to be extremely unprofessional, I would warn anybody to think twice before ordering from them. It took me 4 months, numerous phone calls and a lot of upset to get a refund on a chair I waited months for, and which was faulty on delivery. I bought a £1070 Luna chair from Natuzzi (MANCHESTER TRAFFORD CENTRE BRANCH) and it was a terrible experience from start to finish. The quality of the product was clearly unacceptable, and the service received from the manager was appalling, his manner was extremely unprofessional and upsetting to say the least. After waiting 3-4 months for my order I received the chair which had a faulty headrest, it was clearly uneven and badly made. After numerous phone calls to the manager, he eventually agreed to send out a technician (however very unwillingly). He assured me he had personally checked the chair with a technician prior to sending the chair out to me, basically insinuating it wasn’t faulty and I should just accept the chair as it was. After much back and forth with the manager who continued to deal with the complaint very unprofessionally and was extremely unhelpful, the technicians report confirmed the headrest was infact faulty. He told me he was having a new headrest made – I waited around 6 weeks and then called the store again to be told after numerous calls that I wasn’t getting a new headrest and in-fact one had never been ordered. I was then eventually told I could have a new chair however he couldn’t guarantee it would be any different to the one I had already received; the only other option was to have my money back. After the chair was collected, I then had to make numerous calls to the manager to actually get my money back which I eventually got back 9 days later. All in all, an extremely unpleasant experience, I wouldn’t expect this kind of service from a cheap high street retailer never mind what is supposed to be a luxury furniture store – completely unacceptable product and service.

“WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE ”

Written on: 24/07/2019 by kwCaldwell484 (1 review written)

The WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. I purchased an electronic reclining three seater sofa WITH insurrance and arrived it in last December 2018. As soon as we sat down, a fabric around the control panel deattached. I had contacted a customer service via phone and emails, with numerous chase to the service customer, AFTER 5 MONTHS finally a technician came to fix it. HOWEVER, as soon as we sat down again, other side of the fabric deatactched from the control panel!! I contacted stright away to the customer service, but until now (END OF JULY 2019) I had no one come to fix it. Every time I chase the customer service, all I get is EMPTY PROMISES that a technician will call me back by the end of business hour. Do I get a call, NO!! I would NOT RECOMMEND anyone to buy Natuzzi sofa.

“Poor structure quality and no customer care service”

Written on: 06/05/2019 by rrobak (1 review written)

Side seats in Natuzzi sofa are leaning towards center. In order to keep the seat cushions in level position we have to put wedges underneath them. We called Natuzzi service and asked to help us resolve this problem. They stated that it is nothing wrong with this sofa and they would not take any action to correct this problem. Bought the set in 2017. Leaning began the following year. Contacted Natuzzi in 2019.
