This is the first review that I have ever taken the time to do on a product but I am so frustrated that I think its important to warn others before they make the same mistake that I did. I bought two of Valanas foundations at Wholefoods for my oily and somewhat sensitive skin. I usually wear Mac mineralize foundation but my daughter was getting married and I wanted to try something new for both her and myself that would help cut down on the oil better than Mac did. Mac is not a natural product line but I have never experienced problems with it the way that I did with Valana Minerals. Let me first start out by saying that I am a big supporter of black owned businesses but I refuse to support or advocate a company whose product caused as much of a problem for me as Valana's so called natural foundation did. My daughters wedding pictures were a disaster because her foundation turned ORANGE after she had been wearing it only for a short time during the ceremony! My skin tone appeared a bit orange too but not as bad as my daughters did and we are both the same complexion and used the same shade. My face looking orange was not even as bad as the constant itching that I had from the time that I first applied the powder until I washed it off in the womens restroom during the reception. I had red welts all over my face and I am ashamed of how both of us looked in the pictures! I thought "natural" makeup was supposed to be better than what you would usually get in stores but I have never had problems like this even while wearing Fashion Fair, Mac or even Wet and Wild makeup for 99 cents! I am angry beyond words and frustrated at myself for letting what I now realize may have been "fake reviews" about how great Valana mineral makeup is, trick me into a nightmare situation. Wholefoods needs to be much more careful about what small businesses they do business with. I will never buy makeup from their health and beauty aisle again!

I did notice that my skin was kinda itchy from the valana mineral powder. Not sure what's causing there products to make people break out (I just through mine away), but I've seen on other sites where people have recently been having issues with them.
