Alice Sebold's debut novel is a strong, powerful story which shows how grief tears us apart but can also bring us closer. we, as the reader, follow Susie Salmon a young girl murdered by her neighbor. throughout the book we see how her death plays a toll on the lives of her family and friends; some of the family members - such as Susie's mother and father - experience very deep grief throughout the book and their emotions break apart their once loving marriage. Over the course of action, which spans over years, Susie watches how her family grows and how their lives go by without her physical presence however, her presence as a ghost still haunts them and lifts their spirits once in a while. Over all, this book was an incredible read, with moments of passion and thriller it makes you compel yourself to just read on!
