Rude and untrustworthy

I believe they are the worst. They bully customers and have no manners or respect. I tried to rent a flat with them back in 2014; however, after I paid the deposit and signed the pre-contract, they rented the flat to someone else and didn't notify me about it. The day I was supposed to get the keys, they didn't reply to my emails, so I went there, and the agent told me he doesn't have time to talk to me, and I have to book an appointment with him!! Very rude to me and my father! He wasn't answering my questions and told me that I had to leave the agency and book an appointment to talk about the money they owed me. It took 4 months for them to send my deposit back by cheque, without apologising. I had to move to a hotel for a week, which cost me more than £400! I never forget the way they treated us in their office in Notting Hill Gate! Imagine I was there to get my keys to move in, but instead, a rude person telling me that agency rented the flat to someone else and If I have a problem with that I have to book an appointment and come back to the agency later! a few years later they tried to remove my review from one of the agency review websites by accusing that I've never been their customer and I'm a fake account! The admin of the website contacted me because he was suspicious of their accusation. I sent the admin all the documents and bank transactions that I had with Bruton & Co., so they kept my review. It's been 11 years and I'm still waiting for their apology.

Rude And Unprofessional

There are no words for how vile this couple are. In all my years I have never dealt with such unpleasant and unprofessional people. They have been my agent for my property in central London and have:

- exposed confidential health information about my family to our tenant

- failed to carry out a single maintenance check to my property

- shouted several times at me and pointed finger at my face during disagreements

- defamed my character by saying completely untrue things about me to my tenant

Warning- Stay Away!

Like everyone else, if I could have given zero stars, I would have. They are incompetent, unhelpful (in fact their conduct may even be actionable), rude and arrogant (for what reason, I cannot fathom given their incompetence). They waste their time sending frustrating emails that have no bearing on the issue at hand. In my case, I am trying to sort out a security deposit and they are being needlessly rude and difficult telling me to get answers on where things stand by reading the DPS website or calling them. Meanwhile, DPS says that they cannot speak to me as the funds are linked to Bruten's DPS account. I am going to have to go through a process with DPS to force the transfer of the funds. I will never ever use them again.

they only want to squeeze tenants money through unfair and abusive behavior and scaremongering.

STAY AWAY. Tenants and landlords alike. If I could give no stars, I would. The agents are very unprofessional and charge for every little item. THEY ARE WHY WE MOVED OUT.

The Property Ombudsman actually removed Bruten's membership last year in August after they tried to change the terms of someone's contract between paying deposit and signing. After that, all of the tenants got a notice from the deposit protection provider, TDS, that Brutens' membership was being terminated. It caused us alot of worrying on top of already being annoyed with how rude they were. I would've saved so much time and stress going with a better agent. If landlords using Brutens have high tenant turnover - this is probably why!!!

Not Recommended To My Worst Enemy

Ok, How will i start! I have rented from these people now and I cannot believe the way they work. The review below is very good and pretty much sums up everything I think about the business.

We had our details taken by a blonde girl who was very friendly and she said we would be called back later as the man was not in. We had a call after two days and he asked us the same questions over again, A*ar (name blanked) was very pushy and unprofessional. He said many different things. He was a very silly man and from dealing with him we should not have taken the property.

The office itself is very old, tired and needs to be renovated, it doesn't look like a nice place. Maybe they don't make alot of money because they are so terrible.

If you have problems, you have to 'send an email' - they do not reply to these or they make the receptionist tell you the answers - they will not put you through to the actual person to speak with. When you do finally speak with the Lettings Manager, she is a very horrible mad woman. She makes no sense and has her own silly agenda.

I wouldnt recommend the company, they are very bad!

Ok, I have been dealing with Bruten now and living in their property. They are so bad in all that they do, I would say they have no idea on business.

First - Lettings Manager is hysterical.

Second - you call them to ask for anyone and the first response is 'send an email'. They dont even answer them

Third - Their Office - it looks bad, should never rented from these idiots in the first place.

Fourth - the staff, i feel sorry for the puppets

Five - THEY ARE NOT MEMBERS OF A PROPERTY REDRESS BUT ADVERTISE THAT THEY ARE!!!

The Rudest Agency Ever.

I’m writing this review to inform you that on Thursday (18/ 09/2014) I made an offer on 3 peters court for £265.00 PW to their employee  [name removed]  and on Friday (19/ 09 / 2014) I went to their office and paid £433.00 as one week rent + reference check fee + commission fee. Today (22/ 09/2014) I called  [name removed]  and leaved him voice mail, also I sent him a text message and received no answer so I went to their office at 11:55 AM to get the news and maybe the keys of apartment but their employee told me he sent me an email which he sent it on 11:45am and he mentioned that the flat is GONE and then he disappeared for one hour. I asked from two other employees to contact the manager but they did not show any respect and after arguing with me they told me they would only send him an email. After I waited one hour  [name removed]  came and explained me what happened. The manner of their employees was such a shame and instead of being sorry they made me guilty while other employee was mad at me because I did not have appointment, she was about to kick me out of there. Such a shame for their company to have these kinds of people as employees. Their company wasted my 5 days and made me so sad and angry, and I lost all other opportunities and I have to stay in a Hotel for next 10 days to find some other place. As their costumer I was so dissatisfied with their manner and their service. I will report them to the legal organizations to investigate the issue.

Rubbish Overall

These guys ( Lettings team )are not only unprofessional but liars too. They lie through email and lie to over the phone. They have no clue about customer service and the Lettings manager has a lot to say over email

( mostly lies) If you have no choice but to use them then make sure you keep a record of all emails incase again they choose to lie and make up a story to cover their tracks. I have had to deal with them on behalf of a friend who let a friend through them due to her becoming depressed. The lettings manager has no manners and uses her staff to avoid confrontation.

Avoid It At All Costs

The sale staff is nice HOWEVER the manager behaves in a way that it unprofessional, inventing stories, breaking deals already been agreed, you cannot trust this company at all. I do not know how they survive in the estate market withe most disgraceful manners, they only want your deposit and after they change the deal and you end up paying more, it does not matter if legally you are right, they just want to take your money. DO NOT USE THEM AT ALL!!!!
