Martin Campbell's original BBC series Edge of Darkness is a classic noir drama that was critically acclaimed and has now been adapted into a major hollywood film helmed again by Martin but set in America instead of grimy 80's England.
The story of a police officer, Ron Craven (Peck best remembered from Jurassic Park) who starts to delve into the death of his activist Daughter Emma (Whalley, Scandal and The Singing Detective) was politically charged as it dealt with environmental issues and the nuclear industry and is capitvating as Ron Cravan begins to become obsessed with uncovering the truth surrounding Emma's shooting no matter what.
I first watched Edge of Darkness whilst at school and then again at University and am eager to see how the film adaptation turns out as I regard the series as one of the best I have ever seen.
