Last Of The Summer Wine Is A Long-running Comedy S

Last Of The Summer Wine is a long-running comedy series from the genius that is Roy Clarke, the comedic moments come from the crack between the old timers who have a very different outlook on life. The peak for this show was arguably the phase in which the three lead characters were Compo, Foggy and Clegg. Compo was always my best, he was a right cheeky rascal who had eye for the ladies, loved a pint and looked like he hadn't had a wash for ages. In other words, he was a complete bonus. Last Of The Summer Wine has continued to showcase some of the UK's more mature comedy acting talent, Kathy Staff and Jean Alexander must be two of the most underated actresses of a generation and both should be rewarded with the title of Dame in my opinion. They recently ranked quite high in a poll to find the nation's best loved comedies of all time. Would highly recommend.

How did you know the bath tub scene and the old bloke flying over the hedgerow were my favourites, spooky!

Lee2008

Last of The Summer Wine is OK, but every episode I have watched has been predictable to say the least. One of them ends up going down a steep hill with a gradient of at least 1-4, in a bath tub. One of them ends up in the hedgerow after falling from a bicycle via a bail of straw, and one of them gets a clip round the lug hole for making advances on a lady in the cafe. Maybe they are all the same character, I'm not sure. Saying that, it is still a show I enjoy watching for some lighthearted entertainment on an early Sunday evening. If it was withdrawn from our screens it would only be replaced with some programme about when celebrity ballet dancers attack.
