This Fantastic New Comedy Reflects The Genius Of V

This fantastic new comedy reflects the genius of Victoria Pile and the other seven writers who are to thank for about 80% of what we see in 'Green Wing', but of course they aren't the only ones with an exceptional comic ability, but also the actors involved. A mixture of improvisation and a very well written script is responsible for making 'Green Wing' what it is. What is it? I hear you cry, well of course its a revolutionary comedy, one like few others in Britain. Michelle Gomez, Pippa Haywood and Mark Heap are particularly outstanding among the genius cast. This is also the first comedy and only comedy to pioneer the speeding up and slowing down effect, that makes 'Green Wing' that little bit more impressive and individual. The soundtrack is composed completely by 'Trellis', again one of the only sitcoms to do this. But, what exactly is 'Green Wing', well it's a sitcom, a sketch show, a drama - all rolled into one! I would reccomend this to anybody who is a fan of 'Smack the Pony' or just a general take on british comedy. In terms of where this would appear in a league table of sitcoms, I would placed it 3rd, behind 'Jam & Jeruselam' and the fantastic 'Absolutely Fabulous', both written by Saunders.

Wish More People Could See This; Reminiscent Of Ea

Wish more people could see this; reminiscent of early Monty Python's shocking comedy. Always interesting to watch. Thankful it is an hour long. Unique; always surprising - startling; clever; filmed with stop/start action; fabulous characters with their own bizarre and immensely talented portrayals.

I Will Watch The Second Season Of The Green Wing W

I will watch the second season of the Green Wing with care. I will not continue to watch something that offends me as much as the last episode of the season.

Green Wing Is A Hilarious Sitcom/drama Set In The

Green Wing is a hilarious sitcom/drama set in the crazy ward - Green Wing. The characters although seeming intelligent have a fantastic way of behaving childishly, eg, Guy and Mac who constantly try to better each other and scatty Dr. Todd who seems to create disaster wherever or Martin who just can't get it right and even Sue White the unsympathetic staff counsellor.

Green Wing Is Simply The Best Thing I Have Seen On

Green Wing is simply the best thing I have seen on the television. Ever. (And I thought nothing could beat Black Books!) You either get it or you don't - and people that don't, you don't know what you're missing.

At first I thought, 'how on earth is this going to work with about ten main characters? We'll never get to know any of them properly.' How wrong I was - every character develops wonderfully during the series, and the hour-long episodes meant that there was space for the main storyline to run as well as throwing in a few scenes that admittedly added nothing to the plot but were wonderfully funny (examples: the clapping game in the operating theatre and the spinning round on the swivel chairs). There's also a pleasant mix of people that have a few odd traits but you can sort of identify with and imagine really existing (like Mac or Caroline) and those that are obviously blown out of proportion to hilarious extremes (like Sue White or Dr Alan). Not to mention that you get both brilliant physical comedy from characters like Martin, Sue and Alan and also sharp witty dialogue scenes, often between Mac and Guy.

Despite the surreality, you find yourself really caring about what's happening to the characters and having strong opinions about them - you want to throw things at Guy, you want to give Martin a hug and tell him everything's going to be alright, you desperately want to see Mac and Caroline getting together and you feel a sort of agonising pity for Alan when Joanna finally tells him it's over. Plus the cliffhanger ending was genius - there's now no way I could possibly not watch the next series, because I need to find out how they're all going to get out of that ambulance, and how Mac is going to get out of going to Sheffield.

There's also the fact that I would happily watch Julian Rhind-Tutt reading out the telephone directory, let alone stabbing people with scalpels and being generally hilarious.

Some of the highlights of the series have to be -

*The Mac/Guy fight and its conclusion with the awkward hug

*Sue White dancing to her ringtones

*The 'Funkee!' 'Funkeh!' scene

*Mac and Guy constantly trying to get one over on the other, resulting in Guy eating coffee, them headbutting signs, and Guy sleeping with his mother (before finding out she's his mother, you understand)

*Alan trying to abduct Joanna - "What kind of a masked kidnapper are you?" "One that's loathe to contravene the local bylaws, actually!"

*Mac's waxing an owl line

*The 'she's my smoo too' charades scene

*Martin's 'see you in Zurich face'

I could go on and on.

Green Wing Is Without Doubt The Tv Treat Of 2004.

Green Wing is without doubt the TV treat of 2004. There was not one moment when I didn't have a smile on my face due to the fab acting and mannerisms of a fresh and unweathered cast. It filled the space that Friends had left and deserves to sweep the board at the comedy awards - it is quite simply good fun and is very, very funny.

Green Wing - This Is The Best Comedy Ever (maybe A

Green Wing - This is the best comedy ever (maybe a bit generous), the characters were original, the storyline moved fast, and they could actually be related to!! - shame on me. Great comedy, can't wait for it to come out on DVD!!!

Green Wing Has Come On To The British Comedy Circu

Green Wing has come on to the British Comedy circuit quite quietly, but made a huge impact. The amount of hits to Green Wing related sites has been phenomenal and it shows that we Brits can contend with the Americans, for once. The more I watch it, the more intrigued I become not only with the characters, but the clever use of cameras and time warping. As an amatuer comedy writer, it is inspirational to see something as wacky but as tantalising as this. The background humour is what you must look for, the comedy isn't always in frontal view! It may be fair to say that some episodes were overly long and the cross cutting between different narratives too much, but the classic 'will they won't they' situation worked well and drew many people to their own conclusions in the characters themselves. For example, is Sue White jealous of Caroline having Mac or Mac having Caroline? As we found in the first episode, Sue touches Caroline's bum and kisses her at her party and her office later, adding to a mystery that surounds the character.

Overall, Green Wing will easily attract more viewers with the second series on the way and the first will live on, if DVD's are scheduled for release. People who haven't seen the first? Get going! You won't be disappointed!

I Think Green Wing Is Absolutely Hilarious, It Ann

I think Green Wing is absolutely hilarious, it annoys me when people compare it to scrubs, because I love that two, and they are both completely different. I love the story between Mac and Caroline, (but don't see why everyone loves him!) I think Green Wing is absolutely hilarious and I love it because of the insanity of the characters!!
