History Lesson showed what animation can do with the Quickening better than anything else. Not even the anime showed one demolishing a squadron of tanks. Kortan's fight with Lanceley on Holy Ground says that such sanctuary only works during the game. No game, no protection.

Exodus blurred the line between traitors and loving fools, and showcased courage even when apparently trapped by a tyrant. The death of a supporting character before she could redeem herself sets a serious tone for the series.
