Well What Can I Say.. Eurovision 2009 Was Impressi

Well what can i say.. Eurovision 2009 was impressive but as usual I'm not pleased with results. That guy who won (rybac?) was totally run-of-the-mill, nothing special at all. Just like Eurovision 2008, the winner doen't deserve all the fuss and ceremonial. I absolutely loved Iceland this year and I think that it should have won. Among my favs also were Estonia and France although Patricia Kaas could've chosen less funeral song I think... Russia may have intended to show something deeply special and extraordinary, but they failed and showed somethign vaguely unaesthetic to our pop-culturalized society...

Eurovision 2009 was spectacular but as always unfair. Some people say political aspects have something to do with this contest, who knows but in my view the winner is absolutely nothign special.

Does Anyone Know Why The Eurovision Song Contest E

Does anyone know why the Eurovision Song Contest exists? It has to be the most kitch European event. Every country in Europe enters a band/artist in a competition in order to win. Politics seem to prevail, in my opinion poor music from all spectrums of music played and i think the dress and commentary are questionable at best. Eurovision is an institution unlikely to end any time soon but i can't help but wonder how it actually started......or why for that matter!! I gave it a 3 for comedy value.

Throw Away The Thin Fascade Of A Singing Competiti

Throw away the thin fascade of a singing competition and open the doors to the EU and the Eurovision Song Contest. Yes its that time again when Irish crooner Terry Wogan travels to any part of Europe except England and subjects us to large amounts of what has to be perceived as a form of sarcasm.

So let's give it a chance I think. It does save humanity from another distressing episode of Any Dream will do. Past this it barely does anything. The monotonous stream of songs then begin. All share two things between them. One: they are all really optimistic, two: they are all really bad.

So after the songs we have to endure the 'love affair' of the two presenters. This is both predictable and manufactured to an extent at which you would rather listen to the songs again. Then begins the voting. The agonisingly, painful process which is made all the more easier by use of a globe.

Pointless and blandly average, its all hope and no glory.

Eurovision Song Contest - Istanbul 2004 - A Good S

Eurovision Song Contest - Istanbul 2004 - A good start for the EBU. I'm sure they will improve their productions as the time goes by. We need better quality DVDs as far as the sound and picture are concerned.

Eurovision Song Contest - Istanbul 2004 - Before I

Eurovision Song Contest - Istanbul 2004 - Before I bought this DVD there was no major publicity for it. I suppose I can understand it in a country like the UK that is not bothered about Eurovision. However, Eurovision is more important on the continent which is why I was so disappointed with the outcome. The whole concept surrounding the release date seemed to be a confusion too. People who I spoke to didn't seem to know when it was actually due to be released. Again, publicity for the product with a firm release date would have cleared any confusion and then maybe just maybe the EBU would have spent more money to release a more deserving product.
