96.4 The Wave

The WAVE brings you Today's Best Mix for South West Wales.

With mainly current chart music and contemporary hits and a few older tunes.

The Wave has the best of today's hits along with news, local info and entertainment. The shows are great and the DJs are superb.

Tune into 96.4FM and DAB for The Wave !

The station has much improved since the last review, with contemporary chart hits back and a slightly new image. Entertainment is good and the DJs show their personality on air, which is always a big up. Great competitions - you could win a trip to Greece before and now the prize is having a holiday in the Caribbean !!! Plus, the chart show is fab, the weekday drive show is extremly entertaining, as is Saturday Breakfast.

The bad things though are the UTV network shows, that are broadcast throughout the whole UTV brand, which makes the music varied. The jingles are also very dull and boring.

On the whole, The Wave on 96.4FM and DAB is a brilliant Top40 station.

OLD MUSIC has overpowered the NEW MUSIC that The Wave were supposed to be playing. It was a fab radio station back in the 90s and early 2000s. Now, the jingles have gone stale, there's no feel to the station, no personality or excitement with the DJs, too much old music & little new tunes. The networking drivel has overtaken the station too far, as well as the not so brilliant events they produce. A total shambles to what it used to be.

Not a brilliant radio station for Swansea, but ok for an Adult Contemporary.

For what it's license states, it gives out a good, but by no means brilliant, output. The station that's as close as a Top 40 station for Swansea & areas - No.1 For South West Wales (but i do not agree with this slogan).
