The Selmer Series Ii Alto Is A Nice, Cheap Horn Wh

The Selmer Series II Alto is a nice, cheap horn which sounds great when new. However, it doesn't wear very well and you may even need to fix it within the year as it is not held together terribly well.

Personally, I feel that there are other, newer models such as the Jupiter 547 Soprano which look and sound better

Although they cost more, it is worth it in the long run for sound quality. For beginners who buy on a wim, it is great, but if you are looking to carry on, it is not worth buying to sell 2 years later for a better one. Buy a better model to start off with to save money :)

i'd just like to point out that the serie II is an incredible horn. i think maybe you are refering to the bundy II horn, not the serie II. the serie II is a selmer paris pro horn, not usa student horn.

I found this review not helpful because...it is a lousy review given by your123up.

It is always great to upgrade an enjoy the whole new experience,

never waste your money on the top of range before having the ability to appreciate.

In another words, learn to walk before you start to run.
