American DJ Sparkle LED Light

The American DJ Sparkle is a small LED light that is brilliant for slower songs. It projects dozens of small white beams of light that either are static or you can make it slowly rotate. The effect is similar to an old fashioned mirrorball.

There is no DMX but thats not a problem as it's only a basic light. It has a 3 watt LED, which is very bright. If you can use a little haze or smoke it looks a million dollars! I've seen similar (but more powerful of course) lights used on 'Strictly come dancing' 'x-factor' etc.

It looks good positioned on the floor at the back of the stage, pointing upwards towards your singer if you have one, the audience will see the beams coming up from behind the singers which looks great. Or it can be hang high up on a lighting stand and pointed down maybe onto a dance floor to give a lovely effect.

They cost between £65 and £70, which I feel gives good value for money. It is very small and light. Its the type of effect a band or DJ will use regularly, if not all the time. Save it for those special moments to give a 'wow' factor when you turn it on, remember to use a little haze so you can really see the beams. There are several clips on YouTube of the sparkle, well worth investing in one if you are a DJ or function band.

The only negative is that once you attach the hanging bracket, the unit won't fit in the original box properly which is a shame. But overall its a great light at a reasonable price. NB the rating for sound quality doesn't apply of course, but the website forced me to apply a rating before allowing the review.
