Good quality sound. Light. Twin inputs. There's lots of people on the web who have had the buzzing problem with the Fender Rumble 25 Combo Bass. It can be fixed by changing a single capacitor (C38) from 2.2microfarad to 10 microfarad. With that sorted, it's a good small bass amp.
Hi Bigbluedry,
I changed it 6 years ago now so am working from memory. We tried changing various ICs and stuff and then found the C38 cure. From memory, if you slide out the circuit board from the front of the amp, C38 is near the middle and at the back of the board. My board was clearly marked with all the components including C38. We replaced it with a high voltage( 100V?) 10uF (microfarad) unit. The original capacitor was only 20V as I remember and was on a 24V circuit which is why it dried and died. If you have the same circuit board, it is quite easy to find if you take your time as every component is marked. In the 6 years since, the amplifier has behaved perfectly. I did email Fender to make them aware of the problem and received an email back but no commitment to rectify the problem. Good luck.
Can you tell me where C38 is on the schematic and the layout? I have searched the Fender Rumble 25 and the Frontman 25B (same circuits) schematics and layout and can't locate a C38 capacitor..
Thanks for your help..

I Was Looking For An Amp Suitable For Home Use And
I was looking for an amp suitable for home use and small gigs, tried the Fender Rumble 25 Combo Bass one hooked up to a Fender Jazz bass and was really impressed. Loud enough for small gigs, manageable size, still sounds good at low volume so can keep the neighbours happy. The effects loop is really useful and I like the red light. What really impresses is the range of tones, smooth silky lows and clear crisp highs, EQ that actually does something. Nice manageable size and weight. If they made amps like this forty years ago when I started playing the bass, I might have been famous.

A Great Price For Such A Wonderful Sound. I Run Th
A great price for such a wonderful sound. I run this one with my vintage 62' Hofner Beatle bass with flat wound strings. Sounds just as warm as my Crate B160 or my VOX T-60.
I compared at a showroom this amp, an SWR 30 watt and the Fender Bassmaster. I could not tell the diff. between the Bassmaster and this one, so price won out between this contest. The SWR compact 30 watt with an 8" speaker could not go near as loud as the Fender that was $75 cheaper as well! The SWR also had some strange "artefact" sounds on certain notes with notable overdriving with little volume.
I wanted a small, compact, 10" or 8" speaker, "practice" amp that would not break the bank but provided enough punch (a modest size cabnit) to be heard while playing with 30 watt 6 string electrics.
This one fits the bill perfectly. No frills, 3 band EQ and passive/active inputs makes this a great choice for most bass players.

The Fender Rumble 25 Combo Bass Amplifier Has A Lo
The Fender Rumble 25 Combo Bass amplifier has a look that means business. Fender really took the time to dial in the sound and the result is an amplifier that speaks with EQ that is versatile and features that include CD input and headphones. The Rumble 25 is incredibly easy to dial in various tones from mid heavy fusion to low bumping Reggae. It speaks well with fretted and fretless and although 25 watts doesn't take you much beyond the bedroom.
