The Quality Of The Dean Vx Guitar Is Great For The
The quality of the Dean VX guitar is great for the price. It stays in tune better then the Ibanez RG swapped for it. Doesn't require an alan wrench or a bunch of tinkering to play a song in tune.
I recomend this guitar to anyone!

Received My Chinese Built Dean Vx On My Birthday,
Received my Chinese built Dean VX on my birthday, and was astonished by the sheer quality and amount of features included. Built out of basswood, to a 24-3/4" scale and a 1-11/16" nut, it has 22 frets on the rosewood fingerboard, backed by a maple neck (bolt on). The neck and bridge humbuckers looked great, as did the stock treble, bass and volume knobs, coupled with the functional 3-way pickup selector switch. The bridge was a Tune-O-Matic, with strings going through the body, and very stylish in a chrome finish. The finish was transparent braziliaburst, and went well with the rest of the colours. The tuners, stock, work very well and the guitar stays in tune for weeks on end, and the legendary Dean head is icing to this fantastic guitar. The pickups were stock, labelled with Dean, and again went well with the rest of the guitar. The controls are easy to use and are precise, and my guitar came with a cable and a "Dean quality check" signed by a guy named Paul. I would have liked to have seen thorough cleaning and polishing on the switch selector though, which is a bit dull, but thats only minor, and my only complaint. // 9
Sound: This guitar really can do anything, although I was surprised by the bright clean sound it put out! The stock pickups are surprisingly good, clear and just generally great! Not to worry though, put through my Daphon overdrive it turned into a beast! The tone is so clear, even at extreme distortion levels. When put through my Zoom 505 MK. II, the guitars real potentional was unleashed, although I'm still struggling to find a really metal tone! I think I need a better effects set up! I didn't expect much from a basswood body, with stock pickups, but this astounds me! // 10
Action, Fit & Finish: The guitar arrived perfectly, I could play it straight away! It was even in tune! The pickups were fine, they didn't need any adjusting, like the rest of the guitar. Most of the gear had a cellophane layer, to keep of grime, which was useful, seeing as it had come all the way from China, to America, then to England! Everything was routed perfectly, and as I've said, nothing needed to be adjusted. My only complaint about this section was about how new it was, when changing strings to Ernie Ball Slinky-Heavies, white powder came out with the strings, still, only another minor flaw (if you can even call it that). The guitar fits incredibly, it has so much balance, anyone can play it, I've even devised a way to play it on your knee! I have become a pointy guitar convert, and hope you will too! Its easy to play too, with total neck access, from any position, and it looks low-slung at any strap length, an advantage I didn't have with my old Strat. // 10
Reliability & Durability: This guitar is incredible. It's strong, light and durable. The strap buttons will not come off. Ever. I bet you a fiver they won't! I've already gigged ith this, and I didn't think to bring any other guitars. The finish is thorough, although the gloss seems thin, but you can't really tell. Keep it polished and it will last forver! // 10
Impression: I play a huge range of guitars, though I focus mainly on metal. The guitars clean tone really stands out among the distortion, which is excellent, it's sharp and no way muddy. I've been playing for 4 months (don't stop reading), and I've been told I'm amazing, and I think I know my stuff! I own 4 other guitars, a strat (model unknown), a Gibson ES335 copy, a Harmony acoustic and a lil Spanish guitar, so this was the metal revival I was looking for! There was nothing I wished id asked, it was all a pleasant surprise! If this guitar was stolen, I'd cry, because I love it so much, so I would definitely get another one. I love the finish, and the abilty to customize it so easily, i.e. the knobs are speed knobs, and will come off with a tug (they are meant to). I don't like like the country that I got it from? China sounds so cheap, I dont think they should have put "Made In China" on the back of the headstock, which I promptly covered up with a pick holder. I compared it to more expensive Jacksons, Fenders, ESPs and even Gibsons, but the Dean stood out to me simply because it rocks so hard, and its not very common! It was also the nicest guitar I had tried, it fit well, too well, I was suspicious of it, and the finish was the thing that made me want it so badly! Other guitars dont have that kind of quality for so little. I wish it had a floyd rose, but the inverted V is so cool, I might take that back. I beleive they did have a VX T model but Dean discontinued it. Overall, this is simply incredible, you won't be dissapointed by it! // 10
