Burny (fernandes) Jlp-50 - A Nice Looking Les Paul

Burny (Fernandes) JLP-50 - a nice looking Les Paul clone. Trans Black finish over Book matched flame maple, Set neck with decent Grover tuners, consistently holds tune for 4-5 days. Superb Pick-ups, very hot and 4-conductor wired ready for tapping.

No tweaking required out of the box, but played with pup height just to balance the output the way I wanted it, with good effect. Capable of classic 50's sounds all the way through to the heaviest distortion, this guitar has great tone & sustain...But, it also has TERRIBLE electrics. Seriously, after less than 4 months playing, probably 4 hrs a day, the pots were breaking down - hiss and crackle aren't attractive, and in a £350 guitar they're not acceptable either.

I've rated the guitar as high as 4 only because I think most of us expect to rewire an axe (to some extent)to make it 'perfect', but I certainly shouldn't be forced to rewire so soon after purchase. That said, it will be getting the full Jimmy Page conversion - I'm keeping the OEM pick-ups if that's any indication of what I think of them, at least.
