Gretsch Americana

Sounds great. Looks great and its a Gretsch!

This WAS my favorite guitar for blues. Until the bridge blew off, leaving me with nothing but a painted box. The 2 dinky screws holding the bridge on were not up to the task of holding this formerly-fun instrument together. This certainly wasn't the cheapest guitar I've ever owned but it's only one that ever blew up on me. It's junk.

Great looks, great sounding palour if used for blues, cheap price, it's a Gretsch Americana!!!

Thin body, quite tinny sounding, rubbish strings fitted and intonation needed a little tweaking.

I raised the action on mine and use it in open g tuning for slide guitar, I am unsure whether the guitar neck would take open a and for the cost I wouldnt be suprised if it didnt, maybe with light gauge strings? Sounds great though with a metal slide!!

will be buying the rest of the series so I can leave them in other tuning all of the time to save on retuning, would recommend to beginners as a first guitar or other blues type players as a slide guitar or just generally for ambling around on the sofa.

I use the Gretsch Americana guitar in open g fitted with d'adario medium srings, i raised the action for slide and use the guitar for gigging with a shadow transducer pickup, sounds great and i get a load of interest for this guitar, i did use it for standard playing for a while for ambling around on the sofa at home, would be suited for this purpose for anybody, as a first guitar or as a slide guitar as i use it for, be aware though if fitting a pick up under the strings they are very close the the body so many types will not fit!, am going to purchase the rest of the collection so i can use them in other open tunings to save on retuning.
