Manowar's Battle Hymns Is A Phenominal First Album
Manowar's Battle Hymns is a phenominal first album, by the orginators of Power Metal with fantastic musicians, excellent vocals. Stand-out tracks are - well the whole album really - but Battle Hymn is truly superb. There is even a talk-in by Orson Welles.
Some may find the sings too long in places and the guitar shredding a bit extreme - it was the start of speed metal though
There is also some devil refernces which some may find uncomfortable.
This is one of my top five albums.
The emotion and raw power of it never fails to lift my mood and get me pumping my fist in the air - always dangerous when you are driving.
