Picking Up From Norway's Greatest Export A-ha, Who

Picking up from Norway's greatest export A-Ha, who are bidding farewell to us in 2010, is Donkeyboy. I recently went to see A-Ha live and Donkeyboy were the support act. Having no expectations I was pleasently surprised. So much so that I went out and bought their album (not available on UK iTunes though...boo. Become a fan of Donkeyboy on FB and you'll find a link there).

Caught in a Life is the first album by Donkeyboy and is currently number one in Norway. It's a great album that leaves you feeling happy and uplifted (perfect for that early morning commute). You can hear the influence from A-Ha who they state are their idols and the 80's...with big electronic synth sounds, amazing vocals from the guys creating harmonies that stroke the ears whilst hitting high notes (must be a Norweigan thing).

Launching straight in with Stereolife, a very catchy upbeat song and continuing through with gems like Ambitions, Broke my Eyes, Sometimes and finishing with the title track, Caught in a Life there is not one song that makes me want to skip tracks. You'll find yourself humming the songs all day. Donkeyboy deserve to break the UK and give our dull music charts a swift kick...music is for enjoyment after all!
