Enjoyable relaxed world fusion gathering placed just to the East of centre, with lucid compositions stripped bare of classic raga form, exposing a minimal harmonic matra that is easily discernible to the western ear.
On this recording Ustad Habib Khan has collected a strong team of musicians in San Francisco Bay, including the inimitable Gatham maestro Pandit Vikku Vinayakram, indo-enthusiast saxophonist George Brooks whose less intrusive tone may well have been better suited to Making Music than that of Garbarek.
Sitar, tabla, ghatam, oud, sax, percussion, acoustic guitar and piano fitly fuse on this accomplished album.
