Bombay Bicycle Club's Second Album 'flaws' Is A Sl

Bombay Bicycle Club's second album 'Flaws' is a slight departure from their debut - it's acoustic and more folky than 'I had the Blues but I shook them loose' which was one of my favourite albums of last year.

I was delighted to hear that a new album was due to be released this week and I even pre-registered on iTunes to ge the album on release morning. (Yes I actually pay for my music!)

Now this is a little early for me to review an indie music as I normally need a week or so of listening to an album to get into it. That said Flaws is quickly growing on me. The folky edge and tingly acoustic guitars used on the cover track 'Flaws' and 'My God' sound like a cross between Jose Gonzalez and Fleet Foxes. Quite mellow but with a certain energy too.

The acoustic cover, assuming you can cover your own song, of Dust on the Ground which you get with the Deluxe version of the album is a beautiful re-working of track I already loved. Ironically I first learnt of Bombay Bicycle Club after seeing them play an acoustic version of a track from their first album on the Beeb's coverage or Reading Festival last year.

Flaws is a great second album and will appeal to fans of the new wave of folky pop that Mumford & Sons, Fleet Foxes, Bon Iver at al are bringing to the mainstream.
