i had already bought one album by this band and this was the next one it was quite cheap unlike the other one i bought and i think it's pretty good the best and and stand - out songs being psychosocial, dead memories, sulfur,snuff,all hope is gone & gematria (the killing name)from the album and the rest of the album was good as well.

i liked it in it's ways it wasn't complete stand out but it was to my satisfactory i think between vol 3. (the subliminal verses) and this their style has changed a bit but one that i am perfectly happy with and this album let me see more of these guy's changed styles and this was the album that made made me see big talent in these guy's as well it made me want to buy thier other stuff and so i think it's fair to say that this isn't their best album but... i like so and it's more than earned my four stars so if you like slipknot and you haven't got this album theres one thing you should do ... BUY IT

Slipknot, All Hope Is Gone. While this isn't as hard, or 'screamo' as previous albums (Vol. 3), it's an amazing album with some beautiful songs. It's more mainstream than their other music.

This album is a deliciously dark medley of darkness and... lesser darkness? With bone-crunching tracks like "Gematria" and "Psychosocial" setting the pace for the album, the band still finds time to tempt us with some lighter melodies, (Snuff) and some darkly gothic harmonies (Gehenna) overall, one of the best albums of the year.

This album has been talked about for years and i just blew me away. I recomend it to all the rock listeners.

If you loved both IOWA and Vol.3 you will absolutely fall in love with All Hope Is Gone, Execute/Germatria(the Killing Name), This Cold Black, Wherein Lies Continue and All Hope Is Gone bring the IOWA sound back with heavier riffs and amazing short solos. Where as songs like Sulphur and Dead Memories revive the Vol.:3 sound with some slight changes on the vocal style, most evidently in the choruses of Psychosocial and Gehenna which has Corey Taylor singing in the highest notes ever heard on a SlipKnoT album. It is a must have album for not just SlipKnoT fans but all rock and metal enthusiasts, their are so many styles that everyone will find a song to their taste. Whether it's pure brutality or rock heavn your after, this album has both.
