First Of All, I Would Not Recommend This Album To
First of all, I would not recommend this album to anyone. It was indeed extremely hyped up, yet it did not deliver.
The album is like trying to sell a cigarette without any tobacco. Nearly every song sounds like a mish-mash of bad techno, and psychedelic druggy rock. I am astonished that the album is considered to be rock.
Nearly every song is "instrumental" and lyrics are very rare. When there are lyrics, they lack any sort of meaning or value. I listened to the album over and over, trying to find something I could enjoy about it. I found one, in the hit song on the album titled "Survivalism." It is somewhat catchy, and has a good chorus. However, by no means can it be compared to any of Nine Inch Nails' other hits. The band probably wanted to try something different, but they strayed way too far. What happened to their catchy and meaningful lyrics? What happened to their heavy rock influence? What happened to their hits that everyone can enjoy?
Year Zero can only be described as a disappointment. I will save you the embarrassment by telling you not to buy, nor even download this album.

If You Are A Die Hard Nin Fan Than You Will Love I
If you are a die hard NIN fan than you will love it because you love them. If you kind of like their old stuff then your in for a surprise with this cd. Year Zero isn't a masterpiece but it's pretty cool and different.
