Anima Inspired By Ancient Kogi Tribe
ANIMA
LIGHT OF ALUNE
CD REVIEW
ANIMA is a man-woman musical duo from England with a new album, LIGHT OF ALUNA, that is spiritual, healing, new age music. The music was inspired by the ancient Kogi tribe in South America who believe everything on Earth is inter-related, and the tribe is asking for civilization to stop destroying the planet. “Aluna” is the dream of The Great Mother, the spirit or energy-force that created the world. This music is a tribute to that concept perpetuated by the Kogi who live high up on a five-mile-tall mountain in the wilderness, but still feel the effects of humankind on nature.
The music is true new age in sound with both synthesizers as well as acoustic notes from the piano, guitar, Tibetan bowls, flutes and human voices. The music floats and soars and swirls, approaches silence, picks up a gentle beat and then swells back with emotional melodic passages. The tunes are all 8-to-12-minutes long.
This music will not hit you over the head, but will insinuate itself gently into your spirit. It is too good to miss.
