I Was Very Impressed When I Heard Some Of Brian Tu
I was very impressed when I heard some of Brian Turner's music, and what I have heard so far has left me astounded. He makes playing the piano seem deceptively easy.
There has been a huge influx of pianists making their mark in the past decade or so, and to find one that stirs your emotions often involves luck. I was introduced to Brian Turners music not long ago, and I have to say, for me he is an inspiration.
His music is very versatile, and his tracks range from Pop to Jazz, and Classical to Electronica. Anyone who likes the laid back sounds of Air and Zero 7 will love Brian Turner's music.
Brian is extremely popular in America, and he has a current schedule of over 200 gigs a year. I wish some of those were in the UK!! His previous appearances include sharing the stage with artists such as Bobby McFerrin, and among his distinguished clientele are Judith Belushi Pisano (Saturday Night Live writer, actress and sister-in-law of actor James Belushi). His performances include live television and radio appearances, and Brian has also received the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award.
New Age influences are apparent on several of his tracks, my favourite tracks being 'Love' and 'Organic Oscillation'. Brian's classical training shines through on each and every one of his tracks and the diversity of his music crosses the boundaries of most genres. It would be as well defined in the top 10 classical chart, as much as it would sit comfortably on the next blockbuster movie soundtrack. His musical approach is not only sophisticated, with barely a note out of place, but his melodies will leave you feeling nostalgic.
I can't wait until he visits the UK, and I only hope that I don't have to wait too long before I hear more of his music.
