Adam Andrews, Formerly In Folk-pop Group Cede, Goes Solo
PIANIST ADAM ANDREWS, FORMERLY IN FOLK-POP GROUP CEDE, GOES SOLO
I just heard a new piano CD (ROAD TO AMBO) by Adam Andrews, and I was impressed by the album’s melodic soulfulness.
This is his debut solo album. But previously Andrews was a member of the folk-pop group Cede which released four albums, actively toured North America (and as far away as Bulgaria), and performed regularly in front of audiences of 5,000-to-7,000 people with some arena and stadium shows in front of tens-of-thousands.
Andrews has a forceful, melodic style that is quite impressive. He takes his inspiration from his family (“Road to Ambo,” “We Are Brothers,” “Hope and Joy,” “You Were There”), and the people he comes into contact with (“Faces We See,” “Upside Down Church”).
If you enjoy piano music, definitely take a listen to some samples of this music online and make a decision whether this is to your liking. It touched me.
