Beasts And Beauties

A big disappointment. Why is it nowadays that children's & families' theatre shows are so loud and crass and nervous all the time? True, it is a highly inventive production but, as a whole, it did not serve the eight stories played. There was little heart in Beasts And Beauties but a lot of head. The stage design is formulaic for funky London parents. The costumes were obviously hired and not bespoke made for the actors, therefore, ill fitting. Sadly, poor singing or loud drumming was added to cover the endless scene changes, which were slow and ugly to watch. It was a 'half done' kind of show: more high school than high quality.
