Unlike Kirsty's Review, I Have Been Here A Lot Rec

Unlike Kirsty's review, i have been here a lot recently (as in not last millennium). Whilst the Wednesday club night remains virtually unchanged throughout the years (based on her review), the venue is one of the cleanest i have ever been to. During the day it is far from dingy, like many others, and at night it is dark enough to maintain a club like feel. Granted the variety of entertainment is rather lacking, but this is mainly due to the students who run most nights choosing their own things.

Drinks are still some of the cheapest in London, and the music played is always of a large variety.

The only beef i have is the damn temperature. Far too cold in Winter and far far far too hot in summer. Air con would be the greatest asset to this place.

If you are a student (or just young) this is a great venue to get hammered in, but if you're a little older you probably wouldn't like it on a club night...

Would I Recommend To A Friend....? It Thoroughly D

Would i recommend to a friend....? It thoroughly depends. If you want a quiet chat in civilised and clean surroundings, then no. If you want to get covered in disco tar whilst knocking back tequila slammers and dancing badly to awful/fantastic 80s music then Club Sandwich (wednesday nights) is the place for you. I mostly visited it in 1999 so it might have changed a great deal - however

the bar itself consists of 2 floors, the lower floor has a pool table and some fruit machines and is the quieter part, i believe the serve food in the day time. The upstairs is where all the action takes place. Occasional live music, weekly hangovers in the making, and the end of term 'ball'. The union is dirty, loud and very cheesy, but i had some brilliant nights there.
