Morecambe, The Carlton

Just been with my work party for our xmas party last sat, We turned up about 30 minutes early and was surprised to see that they had a reception room. I had never seen that before! When we sat down we were in the main room and the tables were all set up so we could all see the band,dj.

Food was good for such a large choice we all got what we wanted and it was served hot. Desert was all right could of done with more or second portions of it. Liked that it was celebrations instead of the basic mints with the coffee.

The Bottlenecks entertained us and i have seen them many times before so i knew what to expect but was pleasently surprised that they had learnt some non rock songs to sing to us and we could still talk to each other when we were sat down. Usually we cant hear ourselves when we see them. :-)

Overall it was a really good night would like to see more people at them but I enjoyed the night and so did my friends.

Only bad thing is the lack of parking the carleton needs to get a carpark and smoking area which is heated. It is too cold on the prom to smoke.

Just wanted to let off steam following the worst party night I have ever attended. 9/12/11.

The whole place wants a makeover, was wondering if the carpets had been changed in the last 30yrs, by the smell of them I dont think so!!!!!

The venue was cold, no real concessions to Christmas , where was the big tree????? The atmosphere didnt shout out its CHRISTMAS.

Now for the food, only 1 wholemeal bread roll offered to a table of 10 people so if you didnt like white then tough, told by waitress she only had the one and it wasnt her fault another guest had chosen it.

Main, turkey was ok and the plate arrived hot but by the time the either over/undercooked veg arrived it was cold. only gravy on offer for a menu of pork/beef/turkey was you guessed it turkey!!!! the waitresses looked like they all should be called Ms Glum, no smiles, thank you's excuse me's just made us feel like we were in the way.

Dessert was passable , but had almost certainly come via a freezer so quality not good, and no mince pies or mints with coffee.

All in all most definately not worth the princely sum of £28.

I have had many a happy night at past Christmas nights in the Carlton going back to when it was Inn on the Bay and this was most definately the worst. So sorry but you have lost a loyal customer and I guess by other comments from different parties lots more.

I cant review the music ect as I decide to leave early calling at the loo on the way out where 2 were blocked and the other needed serious cleaning. ugh!!!!!!

To be honest, i am simply writing because I don't think there are enough bad review about this place. I heard you had to be drunk to enjoy this place. I WAS drunk and it was still truely, truely awfull. Not worth the money, time or the risk of chlamydia when i went to the toliets.

Dont bother.

I Love The Carlton, best place to go for a good night out, easy to find and has a wide range of gigs for all ages ....Decent size, friendly staff, Legendary

Bloody brilliant night mate!! It's THE best place in Lancashire!

Good atmosphere, some good things on such as, music, partys and nightclub.

I feel sorry for the residents of Morcambe if this is the best that's on offer. It's just an example of a poor quality establishment in a seaside town that is lacking in investment.

Brilliant night out at The Carlton Morecombe. First time I've been was taken there as I was visiting a friend in the area and it was the best night! The club itself is massive, with 3 bars and a mammoth dance floor which caters for every music type you can think of, started off with some drum and bass, mixed in with the likes of The Killers and The Fratellis, to songs from the High school musical soundtrack and Bonnie Tyler! Felt like lots of nights out in one!

The drinks are cheap cheap cheap, with vodka mixers at £3 and bottles of 'Fastini' (cheap wine given to you to drink with a straw) at £4. The Carlton is definitely an experience in a class of its own.

I think it mainly draws in the student crowd but they type who are just up for a good night no pretentiousness here!

A really fun night which I would recommend!
