Reading Festival

Great atmosphere here and all the younger festival goers are so friendly. No trouble with anyone really. I would advise anyone to go to Reading and if you do. Go for the full on camping experience. I've been every year since o3 and i love it.

It was my first festival so I didn't camp, which was nice because I could sleep in a bed and have warm showers..but the festival was fantastic in itself.

The food/beer being so expensive was a bit of a bummer but you're going to find that any where, and it was easy to get around because we just bought our own food in. I'll definitely be going next year.

I admit the camping facilities aren't great, it is becoming very cramped as it becomes more and more popular so there really is not much room at all but all of this doesn't matter when you are well looked after and the bands are fantastic.

Would certainly recommend it to anyone just don't be put off until you get home and look back at it once you're clean and relaxed and you'll remember how much fun you had.

Sadly over the past 10 years the number of idiots at Reading has increased. Far too many people intent on causing trouble and there is a large drug problem. The bands are generally great and the weather is perfect, its just all the 14-20 year old running around out of their skulls that spoil the campsite.

I went to Reading festival in 2000 and although it was a great experience i haven't been since because i live close to Leeds so its a bit out of the way. In the festivals i've been to since i haven't watched half the bands i saw at Reading, mainly because of lesser quality line-ups but also because i no longer have the stamina. The headline acts weren't who i would've chosen but it was more than made up for by the atmosphere. This years line up seems quite strong and if there is the atmosphere and weather to match is should be a great festival. I advise you take as much in the way of food and drink as you think you'll need because the on-site prices are extortionate. Highly recommended.
