Stunning Evening Out
We visited London Wonderland to see Cantina for a work’s evening out. All I knew was that it was a very adult circus with acrobatics. It sounded like the perfect send off for one of our colleagues.
We entered the 1920’s tent to be greeted by a fairly dark room with seating arranged around a small circular stage with a runway and what looked to be an area for a band.
We had posh seats which came with a complementary programme. The show started and for the next we were entertained with an array of acro-gymnastics, tightrope walking (with stiletto heels) tumbling, aerial gymnastics and rope tricks, broken glass, some S&M as well as full frontal nudity, lots of laughs and live music.
The Australian performers are inspiring, amazing strong with great skills. They also maintain eye contact with the audience which makes it feel much more intimate and the change in tone from fun and light to dark and serious was seamless.
It was a brilliant night and totally awe inspiring and breath taking at times. If you are able to catch it before it ends this month I would highly recommend it. I wish there was more nights out like this utilising a venue that should be more popular than it is.
