Tiger Moth Flight Experience

This was the 30 minute Tiger Moth experience at Duxford, so an open cockpit flight in an old style biplane. August 2015.

First point to make is just how weather sensitive the flights are. Flight was cancelled on the first experience day due to wind and rain before I left home. On the rebooked date a month later I ended up waiting at the airfield nearly 6 hours for the drizzle to clear and my flight to happen. I think I saw just about every plane & tank at Duxford museum whilst killing time.

Flight was great although the open cockpit meant that anytime you put your head up to get a better view it was like sticking your head out of the car window at 70+ mph.

I got to feel the controls and do basic manoeuvres , so no complaints there. I think a 15 minute flight would have served the same purpose though.

Well worth the effort to arrange, but not one to arrange around a specific date unless you're willing to bet on the weather.
