I Was Given A Ferrari Vs Lamborghini Driving Exper

I was given a ferrari vs Lamborghini driving experience by my wife as a 40th birthday present. The event took place at Prestwold Hall nr Loughborough and was organised by Everyman Racing. I had seen some of the videos on you tube and some people said that they didn't got to drive very fast (one even said that he could have gone faster in his ford focus) so I was a bit unsure whether I would come away wishing I could have got to drive faster.

How wrong I was.

After the briefing I was taken out in an impreza for a tour of the course. I hadn't paid for the damage waiver and started to wish I had, as the course seemed to have lots of blind crests and corners. Then it was chance to drive not only a F430 Spider but a Gallardo spider as well. The instructors were great and I am really glad they were in the cars. I genuinely got to drive faster with them there, they really knew their stuff. I managed about 97mph in each, but when you are on a track you've never been on before in a car costing around 140k with an instructor saying "go on, more power" and "tuck in behind that Lambo, we'll take him after the next corner" it is definitely NOT something you could manage in your average focus. I think some people's negative comments about the top speed they reach in these type of days comes from playing on games consoles. I play racing games a lot, but they are nothing like the real thing and I definitely didn't feel like I missed out at all.

Other points... all the staff I met were really friendly, the facilities were alright and the photographer obviously knew one end of a camera from the other as I came away with some cracking photos.

Oh by the way, go for the option of the USB in car video capture. It's not cheap but it's well worth it.
