At the end of the day its a farm. Animals are great but you cant touch, play areas are not the best, farm shop is good, very good mixture of very nice food. Its seems expensive too.

How come kids are the same price as adults? Doesn't make sense.

Cannon Hall Farm has it all, if you want a day out this is the place to go. Not far from Barnsley set next to Cannon Hall and Cannon Hall garden centre not only does it have a farm but a massive play area, which has been greatly improved over the past couple of years and a wonderful farm shop. During the school holidays there are lots of activities, this easter it included an easter egg trail (with a little cadburys easter egg at the end) and crafts, as well as a birds of prey flying demonstration. Later in the year they have sheep racing which is hilarious, with the added bonus of the chance to win a family ticket. Go to the website http://www.cannonhallfarm.co.uk and have a look. Even on a 'quick' visit we are there for four hours, well it was difficult to tear the kids away from the multitude of baby animals, lambs, piglets and the cutest tiny guinea pigs. On a full day out it is difficult to drag the children away at closing time (ages between 2 and 11) and on a big family day out adults aged between 25 and 60. And don't worry about eating, although not allowed to eat in the farm area, they have a wonderful cafe with outside seating and a large picnic area. You get a stamp on your hand so you can go in and out of the farm area so no need to carry all that picnic stuff around with you. And I have to mention again the brilliant play areas, a chance for adults to have a sit down and kids to let off lots of steam. I can't praise this place enough, if my grandchildren are asked where they'd like to go on a day out this is the place they always ask for first. Tremendous value and worth travelling to.
