The Bridge On The River Kwai Is An Absolute Classi
The Bridge on the River Kwai is an absolute classic that everyone should watch at least once - a winner of seven extremely deserved Oscars this has to be one of the best war films ever made and never fails to keep me entertained whenever I sit down to watch it. The cast, crew, sets and direction are all superb and add up to create an enthralling film that still looks great nearly 50 years after it was filmed. The plot - British POWs are put to work by their Japanese captors to build a (you guessed it) bridge over the river Kwai - all the while the Allied forces are planning its destruction. With stiff upper lips and lashings of bulldog spirit the Brits set to work on something that they all eventually become very proud of.
This is a classic piece of British cinema and it would be a crying shame for anyone to miss it.
