A Touch Of Evil Has The Most Impressive Opening Tr
A Touch of Evil has the most impressive opening tracking shot that I have seen in a film. Following a car as it arrives into a town and filmed on what must have been a massive dolly crane it is a continous shot for about 10 minutes until the car blows up, a car bombing. It is a dark and subversive story directed by and starring Orson Welles about a small town on the USA/Mexico border with murder, drugs and corruption. Featuring Psycho actress Janet Leigh and Ben Hur himself, Charlton Heston, A Touch of evil is well worth watching for the cinematography and the feeling of dread it makes you feel throughout the film.
