The Cavern

The Cavern also titled WithIn is an absolute masterclass in how to make a terrible film! There is no value in writing a long list on everything they did badly but I'd like to give a special mention about the sound editing, man alive, I have never heard anything like it! I think they spent more time in creating the most ridiculous squelching sounds imaginable than was spent on writing the script, and maybe even the construction of Noah's Ark.

The sad thing is I saw it coming, 8 yanks around a camp fire, looking nothing like cavers, but an awful lot like the type of actor that would be better placed smiling an a couch on a M.F.I. advert or as extras on American Pie. Maybe they wanted to be honest about the situation early on, let the viewers know what was coming. Why lie about it they find out soon enough anyway? Better to disappoint them early on, soften the blow, prevent any optimistic expectations. Sorry guys, yes you're in the cinema now, or you've bought the DVD, it's already a bit late, but just wanted to let you know you've wasted your money and part of your life.

The ending, I didn't get it, did they run out of money, did they run out of time, did they run out of the will to live and commit a mass suicide on realising they had wasted their lives and the film industry wasn't for them, or did they down tools and go and work on farms, in cafes, or some other better suited career.........who knows, I don't!

A silver lining? Of course., there always is...... it should be a good inspiration for someone aspiring to work in the film industry, if the retards that made this film can get jobs anyone can.
