Burnt Out Presidential Body Guard Dennis Quaid Pla
Burnt out presidential body guard Dennis Quaid plays the central character with great supporting actors. Vantage Point shows different perspectives in flashback to a point of a huge explosion and an assassination of the president of the US of A! Few movies have done this really well. It focuses around 45 minutes in time and you're introduced to characters that just flesh out this crock of cheese. So, it goes back in time for all characters, some of which are not really needed for the plot line. It's a pity as I love Whittaker of Ghost Dog and Last King of Scotland. This guy has shined throughout! In this movie, he just represents a cultural guy on a break from a relationship and thrown in for the emotional anquish plot device. Examples include"oh no, she's crossing the road".. "damn they killed a police officer", and porting around a cam corder! If Vantage Point focused on its well conceived thriller aspect, rather than making it an adult family movie it might have worked! Although Weaver and Hurt play great roles for their parts, they take part in a movie that's filmed quite well, but has a plot line halfway through where you just start laughing how absurd the plot is and wanting people to die. For a rental, I'd be hesitant to recommend it to be honest. It ought to have fleshed out the baddies and cut the emotional cheese that runs throughout the movie. I'd say it's not a disaster as there's 1000's of other movies similar to it. Thank god it didn't have a Zimmer soundtrack.
Vantage Point Is A Great Film On The Assassination
Vantage Point is a great film on the assassination of the American president in a European country. The story is told from the views of a number of different people involved in the story. Each view reveals another interesting fact to the story. The problem is they have to many view points which make the film slightly drags on.
Overall it is a good film and there is a fantastic twist to the story.
