The Blind Side Is A Fairly Predictable, Semi-feel
The Blind Side is a fairly predictable, semi-feel good film about a wealthy, white, republican family taking in a poor black boy from the projects - who then turns out to be an amazing sportsman and grows up to be an NFL star. Sure Sandra won an oscar for it... but i'm not sure why. It's a true story, but the script isnt great - and the scene where Michael is having trouble grasping the concept of his chosen sport and Sandra/ Leanne barges on to the field to tell him to think of his team like his family is cringeworthy to say the least (Yes, after the pep talk he suddenly gets it and is amazing thereafter). That said, its not a bad film, pretty watchable if you can deal with the predictability and bear in mind that it is a true story - the real family it is based on did an amazing thing.
An Unfortunate Black Boy Who Keeps On In Life Doin
An unfortunate black boy who keeps on in life doing his best despite seeing his mother into drugs and surrounded by very bad and corrupted friends. Life rewards him by giving him a new family and this new family finds such a great person inside him.
My students and I cried when watching this movie because there are angels in our lives.
