I Saw Page 8 On Tv A Few Nights Ago And Thought, T

I saw page 8 on tv a few nights ago and thought, this is a really good film with top actors in, how come I didn't hear about it when it was in the cinema. It was only when I looked it up online that I found that it was a TV movie made by the BBC.

The main character is played by Bill Nighy, an ageing MI5 spy who is thrown into a situation whereby he can no longer trust the organisation that he has worked for all his life, has some information that could potentially bring the government to its knees and has just met a new neighbour who is not only a fitty (Rachel Weisz), but also a political activist, her brother having been killed in the West Bank by the Israelis.

Nighy uses all of his skills and nouse to navigate his way round the situation balancing his duty to MI5 and his late boss (Michael Gambon), and his feelings towards Wiesz and his daughter.

Other stars in the film are Ewen Bremmer, Ralph Finnes and Judy Davis.

I love the political edge to the film and the who thing is a pleasure to watch, even if on rare occasions some of the dialogue is a little off.
