Obsessed

Obsessed is a Fatal Attraction style film about a couple with a baby son, Derek and Sharon (Idris Elba and Beyonce Knowles) whose picture perfect lifestyle is threatened by the office temp putting her moves on Derek. As is the norm in these movies, they've just moved into the perfect family home, have a healthy sex life and love and trust each other even though Derek is not allowed to have female assistants. When Lisa (Ali Larter) starts as a temp, Derek flirts but thinks nothing more of it. Unfortunately for him Lisa becomes obsessed and stalks him and his family leading to the usual murderous ending.

All roles are played well with Idris again showing off a pretty good American accent and Beyonce proves there is more to her than dancing and Foxy Brown. The role of Lisa is type cast and could have been played by a dozen or more actresses and Ali Larter brings nothing special to the character. The film has some moments that show how easily someone could bring distrust into a relationship and the ending thankfully doesn't settle for a standard husband saves the day scene. If you've got a afternoon free grab some chocolate and enjoy but don't expect high thrills and brilliant writing.
