If It Wasnt For Charles Hunnam. This Movie Would N

If it wasnt for Charles Hunnam. This movie would never b heard of if it weren't for him.!!! He MAKES this movie.

The fact that Charles Hunnam lives all the way in England just highly disappoints me. He would have such a better life here in New Zealand with me, WAIT maybe it would be better if Pete Dunham came instead hah

I would personally say that Green Street is the best movie that I have ever seen.

It Is A Somewhat Unrealistic, Yet Highly Entertain

It is a somewhat unrealistic, yet highly entertaining depiction of England football hooligans. The story is somewhat unlikely, and there is an over prominence of the role and influence hooligans have over a football match, but this doesn't really stop you from enjoying the film if you understand this concept.

Green Street is the story of Matt (Elijah Wood) coming to London after being (wrongfully) expelled from Harvard. He finds that his sister's boyfriend has links with West Ham football hooligans whilst hanging out with him. In fact, it is more serious than it seems, as he finds Steve is in fact a ring leader for the hooligans, and he soon sees himself getting into the murky world of Hooliganism, in particular the GSE (Green Street Elite).

Suddenly, this weak looking and intellectual figure is transformed into a mighty hooligan, fighting against the leading hooligan gangs across the country. This is the rather unlikely story we are to believe. But to be fair, the producers do a good job in trying to glamorise the role of Elijah and portray him as a heroic individual in a difficult situation. I can see many people objecting to this film as unrealistic or simply unappealing, but in reality the film doesn't attempt to be a accurate documentary of hooligans and their modus operandi.

I Thought Green Street Was One Of The Best Sports

I thought Green Street was one of the best sports movies I've seen, certainly the best in recent memory. Certainly the best soccer/football film I have seen. It's unfortunate it had a minor run at the theaters here but the DVD will more than make up for it I'm sure, especially when looking at the site.

Green Street - An Excellent Depiction Of Todays '

Green Street - An excellent depiction of todays 'football firms' in operation around the South East and other parts of the country.

The story starts when a young American lad gets roped into taking the blame in a drugs scandal at a high profile university and gets caught up in his brother-in-laws 'business'.

An edge-of-seater with some funny lines but also some unbelievably sad parts. A fast-paced drama with excellent acting from Elijah Woods and Charlie Hunnam (with an excellent cockney accent!!) and Leo Gregory.

A must see for football fans and football haters alike.
