Happy N Sad

This film was so funny yet so sad, I never thought for a minute Del's wife was dead (duh!) but to go from Del's sad, hurt face at the start to his happy go lucky, can-do, friendly attitude makes this a non-stop-watch!

Neal Page is great, the narky, posh guy with the big heart

This Is A Very Funny Comedy Which I Would Unequivo

This is a very funny comedy which I would unequivocally recommend. The chemistry between the two main stars is arguably the film's biggest asset as we get the opportunity to journey with our intrepid heroes from New York to Chicago as Neal Page (Steve Martin) attempts to return home for the Thanksgiving holidays. The film's main comedic moments come from the calamitous consequences of their unlikely companionship. I don't really know why Del Griffith is following Neal is his attempts to get to Chicago as his wife is dead and he has no family or home as we later discover in the movie. Shame no sequel was ever made as I would have liked to have known what came of Del, the jovial shower curtain ring salesman. "Deeellll Griffith, how the hell are yer."
