It's All Gone Pete Tong

I got confused as to whether this is a real or unreal story. Awesome movie, highly recommended.

It's all Gone Pete Tong - Yes it most certainly has as the film lives up to its cockney rhyming slang of a name.

The first hour of the film follows the main character - a drugged up DJ who is the top dog in Ibiza - as he loses his place at the top as his hearing goes to pieces. There are moments of humour in this and the funny bits are fairly well delivered. But there is too much emphasis on his decline and to be frank its boring.

Then when everything has gone wrong that could go wrong - wife leaves him, he's deaf as a post, no record deal - he mirculously after months of bumming around, manages to kick the habit and knock the drugs on the head! Bravo!

He then learns sign language and strikes up an unlikely romance with his teacher who shows him how to feel noise. Quick as a flash he has learnt to feel music by touching speakers and he makes a triumphant return to the club circuit to regain the glory.

The final third of the film is better than the first 2, but apart from some good gags, it wasn't really my bag.
