Great As A Non-stop Action Film

When I first saw the trailer for Unstoppable I was confused. I'd recently seen The Taking of Pelham 123 and thought this was going to be just like it as it also had Denzel Washington in it.

One Sunday evening all we wanted to watch was a good old fashioned action flick so took a chance as the director, Tony Scott, had always produced pretty good blockbusters so what the hell.

I'm not a huge fan of Chris Pine (not sure why) but like Denzel and he's as likeable as always. The film is simple, a freight train is mistakenly allowed to run without a driver and this soon turns into a dangerous runaway leaving Washington and Pine the unenviable task of trying to stop it.

Yes it is not a towering example of brilliant storytelling, it does not have a clever twist at the end but it is very entertaining. It also appears to have a lovely distinctive lack of CGI or blue screening involved. I much prefer proper stunts or models to be used as it feels much more realistic.

If you want a good film where you can munch through some popcorn and like action movies just for the ride then I would recommend giving it a go.

The Plot, A Runaway Train Pulling Plenty Of Items,

The Plot, A runaway train pulling plenty of items, in which a few contain highly toxic and very highly explosive materials, and it is driverless, and on a collision course with a highly populated area, oh and it just so happens also on the track heading head on is another train full of school kids on a train saftey day out....

Im going to be brutally honest here, this film was awful, it was predictable, cliche, and very boring.

if the film had been released back during the top gun era then people would have been on the edge of there seats, but the whole film was poorly written.

If you love films about trains then you might enjoy it but over all, give this film a wide berth.
