Shinjuku Triad Society

One of Takashi Miike's more accessible to the mainstream movies, Shinjuku Triad Society sees the main cop progatonist trying to bring down an up and coming gangsta. His enemy is gaining a lot of underground weight as he disposes of other, more traditional gangs. After a member of this gang kills a policeman, he becomes more determined to find the gang responsible.Early in the movie he arrests a prostitute who becomes integral in his quest to save his family and himself.Not by all means the most inspired of stories, but it is well acted and delivered. It has Miike's trademark scenes of weirdness, like people getting shot more than would kill a normal person and they still continue - to a gangsta shooting a cat out 'shoot' while eating noodles.Overall an excellent movieand the best of the BLACK SOCIETY Triad series.
