This Film Is The Best Of The 3 And Has A Hard-core

This film is the best of the 3 and has a hard-core fight at the end where the pirates over power the outnumbering naval army.

Not As Good As The Other Two Pirates Of The Carrib

Not as good as the other two pirates of the Carribean films but still I went and watched it! I did get lost with the story line AGAIN which I have made a habit out of now!!! This film was abit confusing at times and not my favourite but Orlando Bloom and Johnny Depp made watching the film more pleasant!!!

I Was Really Looking Forward To Seeing Pirates Of

I was really looking forward to seeing Pirates Of The Caribbean: At Worlds End as I really enjoyed the first two films. It took quite a long time for Jack Sparrow to appear and seemed to be concentrated on Elizabeth and William. I can see why some people would say it was confusing, there were a lot of contradictions and too much pirate folklore. The end wasn't much good as it didn't really finish as such. It did tie up some of the earlier story lines but wasn't a very satisfactory conclusion. If you haven't seen the first two films, don't bother with this one - it doesn't work on it's own.

I Did Struggle With The Second Pirates Of The Cari

I did struggle with the second Pirates Of The Caribbean, but went with friends to see this one as I do like Johnny D. It really is too long and too dull though :-(

Am heading for oceans 13 - should be better, anything would be though!

In My Opinion I Absolutely Love Pirates Of The Car

In my opinion I absolutely love Pirates of the Carribbean, it has got to be the best film ever made. All 3 of the films are very good... the effects are amazing and the storyline is class. Pirates of the Caribbean At Worlds End is the final film where all the corners of the earth come together and fight at war. Captain Jack Sparrow is still very funny and Johnny Depp plays the part exceptionally. The only down fall is the length of the film. It is definitely worth the money and I would advise everyone to watch it because it is a very good film. If you love POTC then why not its amazing!!

I Think Verbinski, Bruckheimer And The Writers Spr

I think Verbinski, Bruckheimer and the writers spread themselves too thin trying to do 2 movies at once. It was confusing, it was dark and I think the ending was a huge let down. I went to the premiere of the movie at Disneyland and even with all the stars there, it got a polite applause.

I think it will die an untimely death in a few weeks.

I Really Enjoyed This Film. Still Not Quite As Fr

I really enjoyed this film. Still not quite as fresh the first, but contained enough new elements to keep the interest.

Having not been particularly impressed with the second film, it was refreshing to leave the cinema with my expectations exceeded. The special effects and action sequences reached a new level in complexity, excitement and realism. What pleased me most, though, was that it was just plain fun. I absolutely loved the Davy Jones' Locker sequence, in which the film-makers were confident to take things to the surreal (I won't spoil it for anyone, you'll understand what I mean when you see it). There was double-, triple- and quadruple-crossing galore, which has a tendency to confuse me if I'm not concentrating but really adds to the fun. There were also plenty of gags to keep people of all ages amused (watch out for Jack the monkey, who gets a bigger role in this film).

The re-introduction of Barbossa, and the way he and Jack compete for the Black Pearl was a great development of their relationship from the first film. Norrington's part was sadly too small, but Beckett remains a dirty piece of work, who the audience love to hate. Sadly, due to the larger number of characters competing for screen time we see less of Davy Jones, but Bill Nighy's excellent performance means he remains an enjoyable character.

My only character gripe relates to Will and Elizabeth, who are both less likeable than in the first 2 films as they have other agendas that compete with their nicey-nicey appearance. However, I have a suspicion that repeated viewings on DVD may convince me that this was a clever move to catch the audience off-guard. It may ultimately have made the film better. Unfortunately, though, it does result in the most ridiculous and clunky part of the plot as they contrive to get married at the most inappropriate time, and after they'd barely spoken to each other throughout the rest of the film.

This is a minor point though, and overall the third film is far more polished than the second, while not reaching the level of the first. It's well known that numbers 2 and 3 were filmed at the same time, and it's clear to me that the extra year the editors had to work on number 3 really improved things, whereas number 2 always felt a bit rushed.

In conclusion, the whole trilogy is superbly made and written. I would recommend all three films, despite the negative reviews. For pure entertainment value, they can't be beaten!

There Has Been A Lot Of Rubbish Written About Pira

There has been a lot of rubbish written about Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. Many critics will have you believe that this film isn't worth seeing, is boring and lacks humour. In response to that I would say such sentiments are a load of garbage. While At World's End isn't as good as The Curse of The Black Pearl it is still a very enjoyable film that is well worth the price of admission.

The great thing about the Pirates of The Caribbean franchise is that it is good, clean fun with plenty of jokes for both the adults and kids. This one is no exception, and while not laugh out loud funny all the way through, it certainly has it's moments. Jonny Depp is on fine form as Sparrow and Captain Barbossa, the marvelous Geoffrey Rush, steals every scene he is in. The banter between Rush and Depp is brilliant and if ever two characters were made to bounce off each other it's Captain Jack and Captain Barbossa. The famous Pirate Monkey also steals a few scenes himself with many a comedy moment.

The plot, which is the main criticism people throw at this film, is fairly convoluted, but you always have a fair idea of which way the wind is blowing - which is all that matters.

The plot picks up where Dead Man's Chest left off. Elizabeth Swann (Knightley), Will Turner (Bloom) and the former crew members have recruited old foe Barbossa to help them rescue Jack from Davey Jones's Locker. All the characters have different motives which is what confuses many. Elizabeth feels a debt to Jack after stitching him up at the end of Dead Man's Chest, Will Turner wants to rescue Jack in order to subsequently rescue his father and Barbossa needs Jack in order to sanction a key meeting between the Pirate Lords of the seven seas.

High jinx are on the radar from the off as things in Pirates rarely run smoothly with plenty of deal making and breaking between our Pirate Heroes, the army of Lord Cutler Beckett and of course Davey Jones who is being manipulated and controlled by Beckett. If you remember Beckett has Jones's heart locked away in a case following the escapades in Dead Man's Chest.

This film is fairly long, but I can honestly say I never wanted it to end and the final battle is brilliantly executed as is the last 10 minutes which pay homage to the original.

Every single one of the significant characters from the previous two is in this which just adds to the enjoyment. Killjoys may not have liked At World's End, but I think everyone else should sit back, crack open some rum and enjoy what could be the last swashbuckling adventure for Jack Sparrow and his motley crew.

I found this review very helpful because of previous experience of Hank's sound judgement of films. I had the three episodes of Pirates on DVD from eBay for seven quid and watched them wearing my upmarket headphones on a huge TV with full stereo sound and all the gubbins. Zounds, what sounds and we won't talk about the picture quality!! Wow!! Thats what I call ENTERTAINMENT!!

Helen of Troy

I missed the scene at the end credits Hank! Knew nothing about it until I saw Bozinater's post in the forums! So annoying!

Shiver me Timbers, I need to go and hire me a thar DVD then don't I, before I does go down the Cinemas like, thanks a lot me harty's.

Hank

Ahoy there Micky69! The answer to your question is a resounding YES. POTC 1 is fairly independent of 2 and 3, but 2 and 3 are basically a double header. There are characters and plot developments that won't make sense to you unless you have seen Dead Man's Chest.

itshimthere

I have seen POTC 1, do I need to watch 2 before 3?
