An Officer And A Gentleman Is One Of Richard Gere'
An Officer and a Gentleman is one of Richard Gere's best performances, which I appreciate is not saying much. The story of a working class guy qualifying to become a naval pilot, it focuses entirely on the training process - there isn't an aeroplane in sight. Gere plays the man with a chip on his shoulder well, and of course it's interspersed with a classic 80s sound track.
