I ate Prego Pizzeria one Saturday after visiting the cinema and had a great meal. We almost had to queue to get in at 6pm on a Saturday as it's popular.
Great selection of pastas and the pizzas are pretty special, with them made by a guy in open view in the restaurant, and put into a wood-burning fire. They have a great selection of pizzas to go on too, though i had the Vesuvius which is a semi-closed calzone. Not in the least bit doughy, and full of mushrooms, ham, pepperoni and cheese with a spicy tomato sauce.
They do a good bruschetta, and my wife had rather good meatballs and spaghetti
The house wine wasn't terribly great, but it wasn't over-priced
It's ideally located as well, not too far from the cinema or the theatre, as well as being close to some of the best pubs.
I'd recommend it to anyone.

Prego Pizzeria, Wakefield, Does Proper Pizzas! Cha
Prego Pizzeria, Wakefield, does proper Pizzas! Chains take note!. chef makes the pizzas from fresh dough made in full view and uses a Wood burning oven -was apparently brought over from italy. atmosphere and staff were lovely. Great restaurant and great value, even more so at tea time when there is a early bird deal. Best to book as they've no real waiting or bar area. had a bit of a wait for my main course but in fairness it was busy for a tuesday night
